#24 LA BÊTE NOIRE

Choreographic performance ( Modern dance ) Le Palace

CIE L'OUBLIÉ(E) - RAPHAËLLE BOITEL.

Dramatic choreography. A dark, smoky story of beastly night, and then a perilous climb to heaven on a fickle ladder of bookish platforms. A physical manifestation of the battles within.

Solo modern dance, or more purely movement in a tranquilising visual scene, complete with dreamy music. I struggled to stay awake in the thin, smoky theatre air.

Fascinating faceless, back-first performance. Plenty of ideas and interest in simple side-lit staging. Nightmarish, deep sleep creature, breathing with the whole body. The non-human side of our soul.

Transforming ladder of seats, like a library of emotions. Rungs of feeling flying apart and leading up and away. Metaphors galore, an invitation to analyse.

Heavy show, only for true fans of dark spectacles.
